Who are the professionals?

Gary Sowinski

Director of Golf

Gary is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and was trained in the golf business by Manuel de la Torre at the Milwaukee Country Club. Manuel is recognized as one of the top instructors in the nation and a large part of Gary's training was learning how to teach. As the Director of Golf Gary is responsible for our Golf operation at Morgan Run. While busy with business he is also an accomplished player and has played in two Senior PGA Championships and two US Senior Opens. His best finish was 35th in the 2004 US Senior Open. Gary has been with us since January of 1999 and is always eager to hear from the Members what they would like to see in the golf operation. Andrew Davis

Lead Assistant Golf Professional

Andrew is originally from El Paso, Texas and moved to San Diego in 1999 where he attended Cal State San Marcos. He has been employed at Morgan Run for four years and has taken part in many of the golf activities. He assists with the Green Angels program, junior golf, and instructs private lessons as well. Andrew also plays a big part in the pro shop operation. He gladly helps members with any of their needs and special orders. He is enrolled in the PGA PGM program. Andrew in known for his smiling face and bright personality.

Scott McGarty

Assistant Professional

Scott McGarty is San Diego native that has been working in the Rancho Santa Fe area for five years. His previous employment includes such clubs as The Bridges and The Crosby. He is a PGM student who is working towards his PGA membership. Scott has taught private and group instruction to various playing abilities. He started at Morgan Run in September 2007 and has been a strong addition to the staff. He is available for private and junior lessons which may be scheduled by calling the pro shop.
